DESCRIPTION

"Love Struck" is inspired by popular Horror Romance novels. It's a blend of survival horror and dating sim, where the player steps into the shoes of a single mother grappling with the loss and trauma of losing her infants father. She works the night shift at a foreboding warehouse, where she navigates both the eerie challenges and puzzles of her job and the terrifying manifestations of her own inner demons, which take the form of monstrous creatures inspired by her own child's toys.

All whilst unravelling the mysteries of her haunting visions, she engages in a dating sim component seeking companionship and support for herself and child. But as she delves deeper into these relationships, she uncovers dark secrets and must confront the sinister pasts of her potential suitors.

GAME SYSTEMS

Dialogue System

The player interacts with characters through dialogue choices. These choices influence relationships and story outcomes, leading to different paths and endings based on player decisions.

Enemy AI

Part of the horror element and to add a layer of challenge I implemented AI enemies. As the player you must sneak, outrun and outsmart the terrifying toy monsters.

Tasks and Puzzles

Players must complete set tasks as part of their day to day at the warehouse to complete a level. These tasks range from inventory management to repairing machinery, each presenting unique challenges and requiring problem-solving skills.

Multiple Endings

Player actions throughout the game influence the multiple endings available. Choices made in dialogue, interactions with characters, and handling of challenges directly impact relationships and the overall outcome of her journey. Befriending certain characters may lead to a more supportive network and a happier ending, while making selfish decisions or neglecting key relationships could result in a darker conclusion.
